Although VIAGRA can be taken with most medicines, it can have interactions with some drugs. That’s why it’s important to tell your doctor about all medications you are taking.
Be sure to tell your doctor if you take any of the following drugs to avoid potential interactions with VIAGRA:
Nitrates
You should NOT take VIAGRA with nitrates. If you take any medicines that have nitrates in them (like nitroglycerin for chest pain)—every day or even once in a while—do NOT take VIAGRA. Nitrates are also found in recreational drugs such as amyl nitrate (“poppers”). Do not take VIAGRA if you take nitrates, often prescribed for chest pain, as this may cause a sudden, unsafe drop in blood pressure. If you are not sure if any of your medicines contain nitrates, or if you do not understand what nitrates are, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Alpha-blockers
If you have prostate problems or high blood pressure for which you take medicines called alpha-blockers, your doctor may start you on a lower dose of VIAGRA.
Protease inhibitors
If you are taking protease inhibitors, such as for the treatment of HIV, your doctor may recommend a 25-mg dose and may limit you to a maximum single dose of 25 mg of VIAGRA in a 48-hour period.
REVATIO
VIAGRA should not be used with REVATIO or other products containing sildenafil.
Other drugs that enable erections.
VIAGRA should not be used with other ED treatments.
Terms and conditions apply.
